Lagos, Nigeria — Nigerian author Lola Ovayoza has announced the upcoming release of her new interconnected romance series, Love and Chaos, beginning with two new titles: Love and Chaos: The Prelude and A Love of Beauty and Chaos.

The series marks Ovayoza's first romance fiction, a genre she first explored in 2019 with an earlier version of the story. What began as a standalone novel has since evolved into a connected series, exploring love, relationships, family, friendship, and the beautiful complications that can arise when people collide.

The first release, Love and Chaos: The Prelude, serves as an introduction to the world and its characters, giving readers the backstories and relationships that set the stage for the books that follow. It will be followed by A Love of Beauty and Chaos, the first main book in the series.

Rather than presenting each story as a completely separate romance, Love and Chaos is designed as an interconnected universe, with characters and relationships carrying across the series.

“Love and Chaos has changed so much since I first wrote the story in 2019,” says Lola Ovayoza. “What started as one romance eventually became a much bigger world of interconnected characters and stories. At its heart, though, it is still about that tension between pure, sweet love and pure chaos.”

The series combines romance with the messiness of real relationships, exploring what happens when love doesn't arrive neatly packaged, and people have to navigate their own histories, choices, expectations, and the people around them.

Ovayoza is a Nigerian author and writer whose published works include Death and I, Obiliwiski, and Out of Sync. Her writing spans romance, suspense, psychological fiction, and other stories centred on complex characters and emotionally driven narratives.

With Love and Chaos, she returns to a story that has been years in the making while opening the door to a much larger fictional universe.
